The European Championships are upon us again, and it’s time to see who has bragging rights as Europe’s best footballing nation. The tournament is co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, but pundits are calling for a Germany-Spain final. TOP 5 Jerseys at Euro 2012
5. Netherlands Away
Can the Dutch build on their World Cup runners-up finish? Intimidation is the word with this intense black jersey and signature Oranj
slash highlighting the Nike logo. Arjen Robben will be wearing his two sizes too small, no doubt. (Not recommended for the average fan!)
4. Czech Republic Away
Another example of less is more. Dazzling white with collar and sleeve accent hoops, this is how to do simple. The Czech’s will look good, and look a good bet to get out of their group, too. (Note: only the Czech home jersey is currently available at soccer.com)
3. Sweden Away
The deep, dark blue and the bright slash of yellow feels so rich, just like the Swedish social safety net. Unfortunately, the Blue-Yellow (not much of a nickname, it has to be said) will be in tough to advance, facing both England and France. Speaking of…
2. France Home
It was a toss-up between the blanc
and the bleu.
Featuring a collar inspired by the French military academy cadet uniform, a modernized Coq Gaulois
logo and blue-on-blue hoops, this is another in the long line of fantastic French footballing jerseys.
1. England Home
by Umbro’, the über-minimal white of England is a throw-back to the ’66 World Cup winning jersey. The Lions will be hoping that the nostalgia works a little magic as they try to overturn nearly 50 barren years. Win or lose, they’ll be the most talked about, and with these, the best looking team at the tournament.
