Day 61 of Fab’s Journey – Falling Off My Bike, Meeting Celebrities & Crazy Sandwiches

[ 72 ] May 16, 2011 |

This past weekend was just out of control and so unexpected. What I thought would be all about chillin’ out and catching up with a book turned out to be a mini jamboree. The excitement didn’t stop! Long story short: I am still tired, didn’t chill out, didn’t sleep and had no real time to tweet. :(

First things first: I have to say the friends I am meeting on this journey are just fabulous. Both myself and the company are having a blast, and our experiences are priceless. We are very lucky to have all of you here with us and are super thankful.

Today I got off to a sluggish start. It was like a lost my mojo; not tweeting for a couple days just sent me into a tailspin. I felt so out of the loop. Not cool.

It started off with me tweeting an inside joke to our good friend @hairgirl1966 who loves Rick James and considers herself a “super freak” as she loves singing the song. But I forgot to @ her, and it went to the whole stream.

I felt like a newbie – the lack of tweeting gave me memory loss. Lol

We met a real life star today: the fabulous Casey Weston. We talked ice cream. Those of you who know me know I LOVE ICE CREAM. And now Ben and Jerry’s finally makes my flav – Late Night Snack:

Check her out at and follow her @Casey_weston.

Speaking of stars, the media mogul herself (yes, she is a celebrity!) @jaejaedynomite chimed in on our whatcha-having-for-lunch conversation with Andrew today with a crazy sandwich. It gave me an idea for today’s contest (see bottom of post).

Everyone knows I love food – I am Fab, the foodie, and will discuss it all day long. I love it!

Speaking of LOVE: through our Boston Twitter account, I was introduced to one of my new favorite tweeps: @minivanConfess. Reading her tweets had me LOL’n for real. That is one of the best parts of being on twitter: finding and connecting with fabulous people. @minivanConfess, it is so nice to tweet you!

Here are two of my fave tweets:

So contest time! In my days I have had my share of crazy sandwiches. I wish I had pictures of them to share. My all-time craziest sandwich was the Thanksgiving torpedo! It was this crazy Thanksgiving hoagie: mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy and some asparagus. LOL It was so YUMMY!

Tell me your craziest sandwich, and we will randomly pick a winner to receive a $15 iTunes gift card.

It is now 7:03, and I have 971,750 tweets to go.

A fluffnutter, a sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmellow creme. It’s name comes from the common use of ‘Marshmellow Fluff’ brand marshmellow creme. It is particularly popular in the Northeastern United States and has been proposed as the official Massachusettes state sandwich. A fluffnutter is made by spreading peanut butter on a slice of white bread, then spreading an equal amount of marshmallow creme on the other slice. Variations of recipes include wheat bread instead if white, and the addition if bananas, honey, or other ingredients that are compatible with with peanut butter.

My craziest sandwich to date is from Boca Tacos and Tequila here in Tucson. They have “exotic taco specials” such as alligator, rattlesnake, and frog legs. They were going to serve Lion meat (yes really) tacos. They got so many complaints and threats that they nixed it.

My friend knows the owner so we got a rare treat… Lion meat sandwiches (opted out of tacos at the time hehe).

My son used to make his Stevo-Supremos:

    English Muffin

Warm until cheese melts over mayo on English muffin in toaster oven.

  8. Lewis F says:

It’s so crazy and a while ago I can’t tell you all the details, but, it starts with a trip to In ‘N Out Burger, and one of their off the menu hamburgers.
    It started with Animal style:
Mustard-cooked beef patty, additional pickles, extra secret sauce with grilled onions

    But there was more.

  9. tisha foreman says:

my best sandwich is a sandwich i can share with others. I like to take a big round loaf of bread, hollow it out, and pile it with veggies, and lunch meats. Put the top back on wrap and refrigerate. The best picnic sandwich you could take. needs nothin else, but a knife and napkins….. YUMMY!!!!!
