A great way to unsettle your fellow Halloween partygoers is to subvert a normally friendly figure. Nurses aren’t usually contorted, undead fiends from someone’s nightmare (unless you happen to be a resident of Silent Hill). This is a great outfit for the girl who’s bored of the usual lingerie-with-animal-ears routine. Got a scalpel?
I’ve seen Scream so many times I can quote the entire script front to back. Everyone’s worn the standard Ghost Face costume. I’m pretty sure my Great Aunt has worn it. But the fact that this outfit is drenched in blood takes it from a quaint 90s novelty to something genuinely frightening. Pray that you won’t get any late-night calls from this weirdo.
You know who has a fear of clowns? I do. And anyone who doesn’t will surely develop one when they see this vision of Hell parading in front of them on Halloween night. I’m kind of getting a panic attack just writing this. Let’s move on, shall we?
Speaking of nightmarish visions, this bizarre costume comes straight from the mind of horror master Clive Barker. The straight jacket is creepy enough, but the razor teeth for eyes takes it to a seriously weird place. Then again, this is from the man who created Hellraiser’s notoriously sadistic villain Pinhead.
I remember being scared to death of Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the Joker in the 1989 Batman movie. Anyone unfortunate to have brought their child to see Heath Ledger’s legitimately terrifying performance in The Dark Knight probably didn’t think to bring them a change of pants.
Don’t be caught frowning around anybody wearing this. They might be tempted to, shall I say, put a smile on your face.
